The Deception of Ananias and Sapphira A Tale of Greed
I think the leading cause in Ananias and Sapphira's sin of deception and lying, they didn't understand the holiness of God. They didn't understand the God that they claimed to serve. We must never, ever, ever, ever, ever think that God is not holy, or God is going to accept our sin, or God is going to look over our sin, or God is going to not think much of our sin because it's just a little lie. God sends liars to hell. It says all liars will have their part in the lake of fire. All liars, there's a title of the sermon say, says liars going lie. But what I'm really speaking of whenever I say that is the fact that Ananias and Sapphira are liars and they're now lying dead at the feet of the apostles. Liars indeed are going to lie. But liars can lie on their face in repentance. So if you're a liar here today. You're not lying to me. You're lying to God. You're not lying to your neighbor. You're lying to God. You're not lying to your parents.
No Sin is Small The Reality of Divine Holiness
Base your understanding of the church upon God's word. And those who love God's word, and those who live according to God's word, and then you'll start to see the church for what God intended the church to be. Those who live selfish, or selfless, sorry, selfless, sacrificial lives. Those who love one another and are always waiting for one another to come back, longing to have true fellowship, true worship, true respect for one another. See the Church Through God's Word
He's building His church. Are you a part of his church? You can be a part of his church. You can be a part of his church. You don't have to pay a fee. There's no entry fee. The price has been paid. Paid in full. Are you struggling with yourself? Are you struggling with your thoughts? You see, some things in the Bible seem to be true. I don't believe other things. See, I understand that I sin, but I don't understand the Savior. I understand that I need something, I just can't find that thing that I need. I'm struggling, I'm longing, I'm looking for fulfillment, but I cannot find fulfillment in anything that I look for. Because you're looking in all the wrong places. Look in God's Word. As He builds His true church. He's going to do so, again, in the midst of deceitful people. They went from Egypt with the wealth of the Egyptians to come and build God's kingdom. If you understand the idea of the picture of Egypt being the world, and the tabernacle in a sense being the kingdom of God, or the promised land. We have to understand that that's how we should function as people. We're always going to be in the world making the money that we need to build God's kingdom. What good is it, my brothers and sisters, If someone claims to have faith, but does not have works, can such faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food, and one of you says to him, go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed, but you don't give them what the body needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith, if it does not have works, is dead by itself. But someone will say, you have faith, I have works. Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
